I have been reading Elizabeth Cadell's books since I was an early teen and LOVE them. I'm thrilled that they are being reintroduced via Kindle e-books. While they are categorized as romances, I don't like romances and I think this is the only way they can categorize them today--they are quaint, charming, romantic, and mysterious, with a hint of a sly wink at the reading audience.On to the review of this book. It is highly unusual for Ms. Cadell as it is told in the first person. The mystery and (somewhat unexpected) romance is there and I think the author is enjoying sending up emerging cultural shifts in this book. It was a very enjoyable read and I hope more readers discover Elizabeth Cadell;s work through her Kindle books!

I was happy to find Cadell books that I haven't read ! I enjoyed the clear descriptions of the characters, locations, & the mysterious theme
This is one of my favorites. The mystery takes center stage, but the characters make it special.
Elizabeh Cadell books are always a pleasure to read, and I'm delighted that they are being reprinted. I have a collection of the older books, but some were impossible to find until now. Hurray for whoever decided to make them available again!
Excellent character development, interesting situations and resolution of actions in the book. The Author keeps the reader guessing what the outcome will be.
Another Cadell digital release I hadn't read in a while and darker than 90% of Cadell's others books, but a fun mystery. What I particularly like about Cadell is her range in plotting and tone. But at the heart of all her books, is Cadell's fun world view.
I love Elizabeth Cadell's writing, but this is the first time I've read Death Among Friends since the book has been out of print for so long. Thank you to her relatives for republishing on !!!! This is a great mystery without being gruesome with lots of interesting characters and amusing circumstances. I read in one sitting and thoroughly enjoyed the story and the mystery. The romance was sweet and so Cadell. -)
I have been a fan of Elizabeth Cadell's works since I first read “My Dear Aunt Flora” years ago. I thought I had read all of her books (both as a teenager and then again later in life.) I was surprised to find two books I had not read, this one and another, because she wrote them under another name – Harriet Ainsworth.
I'm thrilled to find two new (to me) books and to see that Ms. Cadell's books are (finally) being released on . I plan to buy them all and hope that every last one will be released. For me, Ms. Cadell's lighthearted slice of life books set a high standard for others to strive for.
This story involves both a mystery and a romance. There are fun characters and more than a few giggles to be had along the way.
